One world for health

We are familiar with the proverb "health is wealth." But if we don't take care of our health, a huge amount of wealth is required to fix our health problems. Last year a student of mine returned from Japan. During her stay there, she had to undergo a surgery to remove a brain tumour. The surgery was successful and she is okay now. She told me that the treatment was very expensive, but 70 percent of the expenses were covered under her health insurance as per the Japanese rules. She also told me how her physicians took care of her and although she returned from Japan, they kept following up about her health condition. I have also learned that the treatment of liver diseases is very effective in Japan.

I strongly feel that the knowledge about the treatment of various deadly diseases should be shared among all the countries of the world, for the greater welfare of humanity. Our slogan should be "One World for Health."
