Reopening plan very risky

It came as a shock to me when I learned about the "partial" opening of the RMG sector late last month. Seeing the influx of workers pouring into the capital disregarding all social distancing guidelines was even more shocking, to say the least. One does not need to be an expert to assess the risks of such a development. Now the government has decided to reopen shopping malls and other businesses on a limited scale starting May 10.

I can comprehend that we are living in strange times and it tends to take a toll on us when we are being forced to live within the confines of walls, but reopening businesses would simply ruin the very purpose of the nationwide lockdown. We are all well aware of the devastating outcome of this pandemic. I know the economy is taking a hit particularly and many people are going through extremely difficult circumstances. It is also true that livelihoods need to be saved. But at the cost of lives? I beg to differ.
