Bureaucratic red tape and our business environment

An encouraging report was recently released by the World Bank which stated that Bangladesh has taken its position among the top-20 improvers in the ease of doing business 2020 through the implementation of various reform initiatives to create a business-friendly environment. It can be mentioned that the upward trend in FDI in Bangladesh is a result of policy reforms and the introduction of a one-stop service (OSS) for investors, among other initiatives. However, bureaucratic tangle remains a key issue for investors who have to face multiple hurdles due to bureaucratic red tape. The government must take measures to address this problem.
