Ilias Kanchan, a real-life hero

Ilias Kanchan was recently awarded the prestigious Ekushey Padak for his social service. He has achieved fame not only for his successful film career but also for his social activities including the campaign for road safety. The recognition of his service will encourage others to follow his footsteps.

In Bangladesh, thousands of people die in road accidents every year, but few raise their voice as if it is normal. In this context, Ilias Kanchan is definitely unique. There are many celebrities in our country, but there's hardly any who take social issues seriously. Ilias Kanchan has set an example for the young generation. For all these reasons, I feel proud to say that Ilias Kanchan is my real-life hero.
