Dream of a green Bangladesh

Bangladesh is the second worst country in the world in terms of pollution, according to the Environment Performance Index. If the government cannot take immediate and effective steps to protect our environment from pollution, one can only imagine what the future holds.

Recent pollution data shows that Bangladesh's performance in curbing pollution has only deteriorated. In addition, Sustainable Development Solutions Network Report 2017 shows that Bangladesh was lagging behind its neighbouring counterparts in attaining the sustainable development goals. These should come as a wakeup call for Bangladesh. I urge the government to take these into consideration and consider appropriate measures to protect the environment.
