Dowry has no place in a civilised society

Not a day goes by without the media reporting on women being killed, tortured or divorced over dowry. It is an evil practice that commodifies women.

The government has enacted an anti-dowry law, but the menace will only be eradicated if people realise how terrible it is and the harm that it causes to society.

Those looking to get married should persuade their parents to not seek or give dowry. We must, as a society, get rid of this disgraceful practice once and for all.
