UQEEL holds the first-ever lawyers’ virtual entertainment show in Bangladesh

A group of 15 lawyers was amassed to put up the online performance to cheer up and entertain the viewers to overcome the stressful lockdown times during the COVID-19 crisis by showcasing their performances. The entertainment show titled as "Performing Lawyers", was organised by UQEEL.com Limited on May 22, 2020, which was a special episode of the webinar series that have been live-streamed by UQEEL throughout the lockdown period. UQEEL.com Limited is a legal tech company that offers platform-based service by connecting lawyers with legal service seekers. 

The event had Legal Voice Foundation as the strategic partner. The program was moderated with versatility, by Barrister Aneek R. Haque and Barrister Zakiul Huq. Live performances, i.e. poem reciting, playing popular numbers from classics, modern, rock and contemporary genre, and fusion with tabla captivated the audience. 

Two special performances were made. One of which was the narration of a letter written by valiant freedom fighter Akhlakul Hossain Ahmed to his wife, during the liberation war of 1971 - an attempt to pay tribute to our valiant martyr freedom fighters of 1971. Akhlakul Hossain Ahmed is the father of eminent Supreme Court Judge Mr. Justice Obaidul Hassan. The other was the streaming of an audio-visual created to mark the 10 years anniversary of "ARCHIVA" – a private-archive exhibit curated by eminent Supreme  court Judge Mr. Justice Syed  Refaat Ahmed.

The Performing Lawyers show featured young lawyers such as Muhit Mirza, Lubna Yeasmin, Tashina Tasnim, Upoma Saha, Towfique Ahmed, Mahin M. Rahman, Kumar Debul Dey, Nishat Mahmood, Tanzir Mannan, Rasida Chowdhuri Nilu, Hasaan Azim Dolan, Aditi Rahman Dola, and Nishat Mahmud. All the performances received applauds from the viewers. 

The President and Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Senior Advocate A. M. Aminuddin and Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal attended the show throughout and expressed their appreciation for arranging such a show.

Performing lawyers, by all means, was a full packed entertaining show, presented by UQEEL - something that was never endeavored before. Sonia Bashir Kabir, the Chairman of UQEEL has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to each and every one who has been part of the Performing Lawyers web show and also thanked them and the viewers for making it a grand success.
