Felicitation to newly enrolled advocates held at DIU

A felicitation programme for the newly enrolled advocates, graduating from Dhaka International University (DIU), organised by the Department of Law, DIU was held on 9 September at the moot court of DIU's permanent campus. The current students and alumni were present to celebrate the law graduates of DIU who demonstrated a great feat in the Bar Council Examination. About 50 law graduates participated in this occasion.  

The programme began with the welcome speech of RaisuL Islam Sourav, Assistant Professor and Chairperson, Department of Law, DIU. He congratulated all the new advocates on their great achievements. Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary, MP; Member, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs; Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), DIU, and Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh attended the event as the chief guest while Prof Dr AWM Abdul Huq, Dean, Faculty of Law, DIU chaired the session.

In his speech, Barrister Patwary encouraged the newly enrolled advocates graduating from DIU to contribute to establishing social justice and the rule of law. He urges all the learned advocates to uphold human dignity and ethics in all spheres of their professional lives.

Dr S Q Patwari, Vice-chairman, BoT, DIU; Prof Dr Ganesh Chandra Saha, Pro-VC, DIU, and Prof Md Rafiqul Islam, Registrar delivered speeches as the special guests. The newly enrolled advocates also shared their emotions about DIU and reflected on their accomplishments. After the distribution of crests among the successful advocates, the programme came to an end with a group photo session.
