Verdict in ICT case against journo Probir Sikdar deferred till April 11

Verdict of the case filed against journalist Probir Sikdar under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act was today deferred until April 11.

Judge Mohammad Ash Sams Joglul Hossain of the Dhaka Cyber Tribunal set the date today.

On March 22, the court had set today's date to deliver the verdict after conclusion of arguments.

The court deferred the date as the verdict in the case could not be ready in due time, according to court sources.

The 55-year-old editor of Daily Bangla 71 and an online news portal was arrested on August 16 last year after Faridpur Awami League leader Swapan Kumar Paul filed the case under the ICT Act over a Facebook post he made.
