DSA case: Khulna journalist sent to jail

A Khulna court today sent a journalist arrested under the Digital Security Act to jail.

Abu Tyeb, Khulna correspondent of NTV and daily Lok Shomaj, was arrested from his home in Khulna last night, reports our correspondent quoting Ashraful Alam, officer-in-charge of Khulna Sadar Police Station.

He was arrested after City Corporation Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khalek filed a case under DSA with the police station, the OC said.

The mayor accused Abu Tyeb of mentioning him in a derogatory Facebook post, said the police official, quoting the case statement.

Abu Tyed was produced at the court around 10:00am today, the OC added.
