Digital Security Act: Khulna journalist freed on bail after 21 days of arrest

Khulna journalist Abu Tyeb, who was arrested in a case filed under the Digital Security Act, was freed on bail today.

He was freed from Khulna jail around 5:00pm, reports our local correspondent.

Tyeb was granted bail by High Court on May 5 after lower court rejected his bail petition, said Akhter Jahan Ruku, the journalist's lawyer.

Abu Tyeb is Khulna correspondent of private television channel ntv and the daily Lok Somaj.

He was arrested from his Khulna residence on April 20 in connection with the case.

Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khalek filed the DSA case that day.
