Abducting a six-year-old boy from Ullahpara upazila in Sirajganj, a syndicate comprised of locals and outsiders cut out both his kidneys and dumped the body into a wetland, police say.
Police came to know about the sheer brutality from an arrested member of the syndicate.
Son of Abdul Hannan of Tafabari village in the upazila, Harun had been missing since leaving home on April 22 afternoon. His body was recovered from the wetland, Failar Beel, on April 26.
On Monday, police arrested Khalilur Rahman, 22, one of the three accused in a case filed with Ullahpara Police Station by Harun's uncle Abdul Mannan.
The two other accused are Chand Ali and Abdul Matin.
“The last time my nephew was seen he was with Khalil,” Harun's uncle Mannan told this reporter.
Khalil confessed to his crime before a Sirajganj court a day after his arrest at Ullahpara's Kaliakair.
He disclosed the name of another accomplice, Delwar Hossain, who along with Chand Ali doped and kidnapped the kid near his home on April 22.

Khalil, Chand, Delwar and Matin are from Tafabari village.
Early next day, they took the child under the Udhunia bridge where they met three others -- including a “physician” -- who came in a motorbike from Savar in Dhaka.
It was the “physician” who conducted the “operation”. He and his two accomplices left the scene with the kidneys preserved in a saline solution.
According to Khalil, the deal for this job involved Tk 1 million. He was supposed to get Tk 2,00,000. But after it was done, he was offered Tk 20,000 which he claimed to have refused.
Contacted, Sub-Inspector Abdul Jalil of Ullahpara Police Station said two four-inch-deep cuts were seen on both sides of the child's abdomen during inquest. He doubts whether it was really done by a doctor.
The rest of the culprits are yet to be arrested.
