Khulna Coronation Girls' High School wins div round

Khulna Govt Coronation Girls' High School won the divisional round of English in Schools, a joint programme of The Daily Star and Robi, yesterday.
Jessore Police Line Secondary School and Daulatpur Mohsin Secondary Girls' High School of Khulna became the first and second runners-up respectively.
The three winning schools received bronze trophies, certificates and English books worth about Tk 10,000 each at a prize giving ceremony held in Khulna Saint Joseph High School's auditorium. The winning students received a bronze medal each.
Earlier, some 500 students from 25 high schools of Khulna, Jessore and Bagerhat districts attended a test featuring general grammar questions, sentence structure, word composition and comprehension and a listening test.
Anis Mahmud, deputy commissioner of Khulna, was present as the chief guest while TM Jakir Hossain, deputy director of The Directorate of Secondary and Higher  Education , Khulna, was the special guest.
Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, managing editor of The Daily Star, and Arifur Rahman, area manager of Robi, Khulna district, were also present at the ceremony.
