BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman today held a series of meetings on different crucial issues including party’s overhauling and upcoming anti-government movement in Madina, sources said.

BNP leaders in Saudi Arabia said Khaleda and Tarique held at least four closed-door meetings since their arrival in Madina Sunday morning.

Khaleda’s Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan and her special assistant Shimul Biswas assisted her while Tarique’s former personal assistant Rakibul Islam Bakul assisted the BNP’s second-in-command.

Details of the meeting could not be known immediately.

Khaleda, Tarique and their family members and relatives also offered fateha at the holy Rawja Mubarak of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) in Madina in the early hours of Monday.

They offered prayers and visited the holy Rawja Mubarak at the Masjid-e-Nababi around 12:15am (local time), Sayrul Kabir Khan, a media wing staff of Khaleda, quoted her press secretary Maruf.

Tarique’s wife Dr Zubaida Khan Rahman, daughter Zaima Zarnaz Rahman, Maruf Kamal, Shimul Biswas, Bangladesh Jatiya Party chief Andaleeve Rahman Partho, among others were present at that time.

Following their emotional reunion at Dubai International Airport after over three years, Khaleda and Tarique went to Madina on Sunday morning to perform Umrah as Royal guests.

Khaleda is scheduled to go to Jeddah from Madina on Tuesday. Later, they will go to Makkah by road and perform Umrah there.
