Khaleda’s Natore rally rescheduled on Nov 1

BNP-led 20-party alliance has rescheduled its rally in Natore on November 1 to garner public supports in favour of the party’s demand for election under a nonparty caretaker government.

The rally was scheduled to be held there on October 30.

Authorities this evening deployed paramilitary Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at different parts of the country including Dhaka to ward off violence centring the pronouncement of the war crimes trial verdict on Jamaat-e-Islami chief Motiur Rahman Nizami tomorrow.

Jamaat is a key component of the alliance.

“Our Natore rally will be held on November 1 instead of October 30,” BNP office secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told The Daily Star Online.

Responding to a query, Rizvi also a joint secretary general of the party said he does not know anything about the ground of changing the date.
