Key accused in Sirajganj AL leader killing found dead

2 other suspects were shot dead earlier in 'crossfire', by unknown goons

Days into killings of two persons accused in a Sirajganj upazila unit Awami League leader murder, a third suspect, who is an activist of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), was found shot dead this morning.
Deaths of the three accused took place within the span of 17 days from January 30.
Jahangir Alam, 30, was a BNP activist of Tentulia area in Sirajganj Sadar upazila, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting Harunur Rashid, office and publicity secretary of Siraganj district BNP unit.
On December 30, Saiful Islam, the youth and sports secretary of Sirajganj Sadar upazila unit of AL, was stabbed to death at Baoitara village of the upazila.
Early today, locals saw the bullet-hit body of Jahangir lying under a foot over bridge at Jhaoli in Kamarkhand area and informed Bangabandhu Bridge (west) Police Station, according to Rezaul Haque, officer-in-charge of Kamarkhand Police Station.
Kamarkhand police later recovered the body around 8:15am.
On January 30, Mohammad Bablu, the No. 2 accused in the murder case, was killed in a "gunfight" with the members of Rapid Action Battalion in Sirajganj town.
Bablu, 32, was a member of a robbery gang.
On February 6, the bullet-hit body of Zoban Ali, the main accused of the murder case, was found under a bridge in Konagati area of the upazila. He was fugitive in seven other criminal cases.
Zoban, 45, was also vice-president of Syedabad union of Jubo Dal unit, the youth organisation of BNP.  His rivals might have killed him over previous enmity, locals said.
