Jubo Legaue man shot dead in Laxmipur

The bullet-hit body of a Jubo League activist was found in Laxmipur Sadar upazila this morning.

Informed by locals, police recovered the body of Shahadat Hossain Tipu, 26, from a field at Chandpur village in the upazila around 9:00am, reports our Noakhali correspondent quoting Md Ohiduzzaman, a sub-inspector of Dattapara police outpost.

After receiving a phone call around 10:00pm yesterday, Tipu went out of his residence at Gopalpur, which is adjacent to Chandpur, and remained missing since then, the victim's father Harunur Rashid Khoka said.

Khoka claimed that people of local criminal Shamim might have killed his son.

He however could not mention any reason behind the murder.

Three bullets pierced through his chest and knee, SI Ohiduzzaman said.

The body has been sent to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
