JP leaders face off at JS lobby

State Minister for LGRD and Jatiya Party MP Moshiur Rahman Ranga and Opposition Chief Whip Tajul Islam Chowdhury were on the verge of a scuffle with JP Secretary General Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu this evening at Jatiya Sangsad lobby.
During the Maghrib prayer break, Ranga and Tajul engaged in a heated debate with Bablu over the JP chief’s Wednesday’s decision to relieve the duo from the party’s presidium post.
They blamed Bablu for influencing JP chief HM Ershad to take actions against them, eyewitness told The Daily Star.
“You [Bablu] have emerged as a powerful and big leader of the party at present. Why you have suspended the party’s Rangpur district committee? It is you who have convinced the party chief to relieve us from presidium,” an eyewitness quoted Ranga as telling Bablu.
In reply, Bablu said, “I don’t know anything about this. It is the party chief who is taking all decisions.”
At this time, Ranga uttered indecent language saying that they are running the party by giving large amount of donation to the party fund.
Tajul joined the heated debate and lambasted the JP secretary general.
Pointing to today’s press conference organised by Bablu at the JP chief’s Banani office, Tajul questioned Bablu why had held the press conference without informing them.
“Why you [Bablu] spoke bad about me in the press briefing. You have blamed that I was involved in crime against humanity. How dare you say that?” Tajul lambasted Bablu.
In reply, Bablu said he did not say anything like that in the press briefing.
Tajul and Bablu at that time engaged in a very heated debate. Eyewitnesses said Tajul and Ranga were on the verge of scuffle with Bablu.
JP leader and water resources minister Anisul Islam Mahmud who was also present there sided with Bablu.
Ranga and Tajul later went to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s office in parliament and informed her about the matter.
