Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed today claimed there were no irregularities in the 10th parliamentary election held on Sunday.
In his Facebook status, Joy said the voter turnout would cross 50 percent if the BNP-Jamaat had not continued their terror attacks.
He said the government has prevented post-election violence in most of the places after BNP-Jamaat carried out attacks on innocent civilians and set fire to several polling centers.
He however thanked Awami League leaders and activists as well as voters who came out to vote in spite of fear.
"Media is reporting that overall voter turnout so far is about 40 percent. In prime minister's home district of Gopalganj voter turnout was 96 percent," Joy claimed.
