  • Mawlana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani calls upon the people to begin a united movement to end the political and economic exploitation while addressing a mass rally in Rajshahi. He demanded for immediate implementation of Lahore proposal. He calls out to President Yahya to host a public poll to determine whether the people of East Pakistan are in favour of the demand. Bhasani says the mist sermons of ‘save Islam’ cannot confuse the people anymore. He says that for the past 23 years, the people of East Pakistan are exploited by the industrialists. He says that he is ready to take a bullet, but not to compromise on the issue of rights for the people.
  • Pakistan People’s Party Chairman ZA Bhutto says that his party will extend all out support for the implementation of governing policy in line with the desire of the people and guaranteeing the unity and solidarity of Pakistan. Bhutto clearly announces that he has no desire for the position of president or prime minister. He says his party issued one programme and declaration to the people and that is to end all forms of exploitation. He says the programme will not be compromised with.
