Jacko claims innocence

Former world lightweight kickboxing champion, Ali Jacko aimed to clear his name of the accusations of crimes filed against him and accused Bangladesh Boxing Federation (BBF) general secretary MA Quddus Khan of corruption in a press conference yesterday.
Jacko had come to Bangladesh in November to recruit boxers for training in the UK.  He called the press conference to dismiss the claims in the cases filed against him in 2013 for human trafficking and the murder of a rickshaw puller.
He also provided some documents to prove his innocence and talked about the apparently corrupt ways followed by the BBF general secretary in his handling of the situation.
“I know that there have been cases filed against me, but they are fabricated. I have provided you (media) with the charge sheet in the killing of the rickshaw puller, and as you will see, my name is not once mentioned there. As for trafficking, I am a well respected figure in Bangladesh and the UK, and I would not be able to get away with such a deed, especially when their faces will be in the media.” responded Jacko.
“The most shocking thing was the behaviour of Mr Quddus, who had repeatedly asked me for money, even though I offered to pay all expenses. He had also asked me to take his son to London with me,” continued Jacko.
When MA Quddus Khan was contacted by reporters, he vehemently denied the claims.
“I have heard the allegations against me and I can say that they are completely untrue and baseless. We have set up a technical committee to deal with the issue and their decision will be final. If I am guilty, then I will accept the consequences,” concluded Quddus.
Ali Jacko is determined to fight the charges against him said that while the events have jarred him, it will not deter him from his objectives.
