Ivy aide knows better about 7-murder: Shamim Osman

Ruling party lawmaker of Narayanganj Shamim Osman suggested quizzing a close aide of Narayanganj Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy to dig out the fact about the grisly abduction and murder of the seven persons in April.
Osman, a staunch political rival of Ivy, made the suggestion to interrogate Abu Sufian while talking to journalists after giving deposition before a government-formed committee probing the seven-murder.
The Awami League leader reached at the public administration ministry in the capital around 11:30am and gave his three-hour deposition before the committee.
Osman’s comments came a day after Ivy said the criminal godfathers of Narayanganj city were involved in the seven-murder. She was talking to reporters after giving her testimony before the probe body.
On April 27, seven people – Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam and his four associates and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver -- were kidnapped separately in Narayanganj. Their bodies were found on April 30 and May 1 in the Shitalakkhya.
Osman claimed that he was the first to disclose the involvement of the Rapid Action Battalion members with the abduction and murders.
“I informed the matter to the government’s high ups, including state minister for home affairs, within thirty minutes of the incident,” he said.    
Criticising Police and Rab’s inaction to arrest Nur Hossain, Osman said if he is brought back from India, it will become clear whether the murders were taken place in exchange of money.
Local Awami League leader Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the case and a close aide to Osman, fled the country two days after the gruesome murders.
In line with a High Court order, the seven-member probe committee was formed on May 7 with Shahjahan Ali Molla, additional secretary of the public administration, as its chief.
