Ireland win after light, rain disruption

Ireland win after light, rain disruption

Ireland defeated United Arab Emirates by 21 according to D/L method against United Arab Emirates in Sylhet today.

The Irish were on 103 for the loss of 3 wickets off 14.2 overs  when a power failure disrupted play.

A second power disruption followed within a few minutes, followed by a sandstorm and heavy rain, causing play to be suspended.

Earlier, United Arab Emirates lost their way in the middle after a strong opening to limp to 123 in 20 overs against Ireland in their second match of the World T20 qualifying rounds in Sylhet today.

The UAE batsmen failed to build on a strong start provided by their openers Amzad Ali and Faizan Asif, who added 35 runs in 5 overs.

Irish bowlers all contributed in plugging the early onslaught, maintaining tight lines and lengths.

Kevin O'Brien and Paul Stirling were the pick of the bowlers, sharing four wickets between them.
