Chhayanaut's Golden Jubilee celebrations end on a high

With the theme “Shobarey Kori Ahban”, the leading cultural school of the country, Chhayanaut Sangeet Bidyaytan celebrated its Golden Jubilee at Chhayanaut auditorium. The two-day (January 31-February 1) long programme featured music performances by noted Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet and folk artistes along with classical music and dance. Eminent cultural personalities paid their reverence through oration and reminiscence.
Sangeet Dal set off the concluding day's event with soulfully performing a Fakir Lalon Shai song “Manush Bhojle Sonar Manush Hobi”. The audience received the performance with applause.
Vice president of Chhayanaut Dr. Sarwar Ali, with noted cultural and artistic personalities – Narayan Chandra Sheel, Laila Hasan, and Chhayanaut general secretary Khairul Anam Shakil spoke at the event.
Artistes of the Folk Music Department of Chhayanaut rendered two choral songs “Gorte Moder Sonar Bangla” and “Ei Je Duniya Kisher Lagiya” while promising artiste Nazmul Ahsan Tuhin, with his sonorous voice, presented an Abdul Latif composition “Chena Boro Daye Rey Pakhi”. Noted folk artistes Sardar Md Rahmatullah and Biman Chandra Biswas rendered solo folk song at the event.
Accomplished dancers Farhana Ahmed and Sonia Rashid jointly performed a Manipuri dance while Warda Rihab gracefully danced another Manipuri number at the event. Talented dance artiste Arna Kamolika superbly presented Bharatnatyam at the programme, with nimble, brisk footwork.
Renowned Rabindra Sangeet artiste Fahim Hossain Chowdhury offered “Kon Shubho Khon-e” at the programme. The artiste's melodic vocal throwing coupled with showcasing of the apt emotion generated an artistic silence in the auditorium. Among other Tagore singers, noted artiste Roquaiya Hasina Neeli, Mohiuzzaman Chowdhury Abdul Wadud and Sukanta Chakrabarty performed solos on the occasion. Latifun Lulio rendered a drut bandish set on Raga Chhayanaut at the event.   
Renowned Nazrul Sangeet singer Sumon Chowdhury enthralled the audience with his outstanding solo performance of the song “Aaji E Kushum Haar” while Nasima Shaheen earned hearts of many with her solo song “Amaye Nohe Go Bhalobasho”. Noted artiste Suman Majumder performed “Keu Bhole Na Keu Bhole” while Maksudur Rahman Mohit Khan rendered a romantic Nazrul number “Tumi Sundar Tai Cheye Thaki Priyo”.
Enamul Haque Omar, Bijoy Robi Das, Tulshi Saha, Swarup Hossain, and Subir Ghosh on tabla, Pradip Roy on mondira, Iftekhar Hossain Shohel on keyboard accompanied the singers on
both the days.
