All seven gates of the national parade ground will be open from 6:30am till 10:30am on March 26 for people who seek to join the national effort to break the Guinness world record for the largest crowd singing the national anthem.
People will be allowed in on the basis of who comes first, and the gates will be locked after 3 lakh participants have been let in, organisers of the event, "Lakho Konthe Shonar Bangla", told a news briefing at the National Parade Square yesterday.
Disclosing the rules and different measures taken on the occasion, they said it would be a massive effort, aiming to boost unity and patriotism. Everyone, wherever they may be located, was encouraged to join the show of unity, and sing the national anthem at the designated time, 11:00am, on the 43rd Independence Day.
Being a national programme requiring very high security, none of the participants will be allowed to carry mobile phones or bags, and several main roads surrounding the ground will be sealed off to traffic, including Begum Rokeya Sarani.
