Insaf Barakah Hospital locked down after 9 staffers test Covid-19 positive

Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital in Dhaka's Moghbazar has been put under lockdown today after nine of its healthcare service providers, including two doctors, tested positive for Covid-19 last night.

"We put the hospital under lockdown to contain spread of the virus as nine of its staffers tested positive," Golam Azam, inspector (operations) of Hatirjheel Police Station, told The Daily Star.

Sohrab Akond, public relations officer of the hospital, said apart from the nine, 50 other staffers and doctors, who are believed to have come into contact with any of the infected, have been asked to be in home quarantine.

"There were eight inpatients in the hospital. They were released in the morning after we got news of the confirmed cases. We are not allowing anyone inside the hospital," he told The Daily Star.
