Indian Rs 60 lakh seized at Dhaka airport

Customs officials today confiscated Indian currency worth around Rs 60 lakh at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

The currencies were recovered from an abandoned bag around 12:30pm, said Kazi Md Ziauddin, joint commissioner of airport customs.

The bag arrived at the airport around 9:00am this morning from Turkey, in a Turkish Airlines flight, he said, adding that the bag was kept at the lost and found section of the airport as nobody claimed its possession.

Later, customs officials opened the bag around 12:30pm and made the recovery.
