Indian Assistant High Commissioner accorded farewell reception

On the occasion of a farewell reception to Indian Assistant High Commissioner Somnath Gosh, a cultural evening was held at District Shilpakala Academy auditorium in the port city on February 7.
Proma Abritti Sanghtan organised the programme where eminent personalities, educationists, renowned artistes of the port city were present.
Chaired by Proma president Rashed Hasan, among those who spoke at the programme were Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Anwarul Azim Arif, local daily Doinik Azadi editor MA Malek, and a martyr's spouse, writer Mustari Shafi.
The  speakers said that the Assistant High Commisioner was a popular figure among the cultural troupes of the port city  because of his unstinting support to them. Later, several cultural organisations and eminent personalities honoured  the Assistant High Commissioner with bouquets and  crests.  
The programme ended with a cultural show featuring solo and group recitations and rendition of songs. Artistes of Raktakarobi and Proma performed at the programme.
