Bangladesh Speaker meets new India PM at Hyderabad House
India's new Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that his government would actively consider signing Teesta water-sharing deal and land boundary agreement with Bangladesh.
His assurance came at a meeting with Bangladesh Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at the Hyderabad House around 1:30pm (local time).
The Speaker, who flew to India to attend the swearing in function of the BJP leader as India's 15th prime minister yesterday, was talking to reporters after the meeting today.
Modi is keen to visit Bangladesh as early as possible, she added.
It was the first high-level interaction between the two countries since the change of government in India after clean sweep by right-wing BJP in the general election of the largest democracy.

Modi today met with leaders of the Saarc countries including Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Afghan President Hamid Karzai at the Hyderabad House.
