Housewife raped allegedly by UP chairman

A housewife was raped allegedly by a union parishad (UP) chairman in Abdullahpur union under Charfassion upazila of Bhola district on Friday.
The victim was sent to Bhola Hospital for medical test on Saturday, reports our correspondent.
On April 3, the woman was beaten up allegedly by her husband following an altercation over dowry. She took treatment at the upazila health complex.
Hearing the news, Ismail Hossain Russel, chairman of Abdullahpur Union Parishad, asked her to meet him at his office.
On her arrival at the UP office in the afternoon, the UP chairman raped her. Hearing scream, locals rescued the victim from there.
Refuting the allegation, UP chairman Russel said the woman had illicit relationship with some other.
Contacted, Superintendent of Police Md Moniruzzaman said punitive action would be taken against the person responsible after proper investigation.
Meanwhile, police are yet to rescue a schoolgirl, who was abducted from Nazirpur upazila town in Pirojpur six days ago, reports our correspondent.
The victim's father alleged that one Razib Mollick, son of Salam Mollik of Sakharikathi village in the upazila, often teased her daughter on her way to school.
On April 1, Razib picked up her daughter from the town while she was going to a private tutor, he said.
