Housewife hacked to death

A housewife was hacked to death allegedly by her husband at Jhinerpur village in Sadar upazila of Meherpur district yesterday.
The deceased is Selina Khatun, 32, wife of Masud Ali alias Inzil. She was mother of three children.
Reazul Islam, officer in-charge of Meherpur Sadar police station, said Masud and his wife often engaged in altercation over family matters.
Yesterday morning, Masud attacked Selina with a sharp weapon, leaving her dead on the spot following an altercation over the issue.
On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Meherpur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Masud went into hiding after the incident, said the OC.
