The law enforcers also detained a trafficker from the scene, our Chittagong correspondent reports quoting Commander Atiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Navy’s Anti-smuggling Cell.

While patrolling the area, a team of Anti-smuggling Cell intercepted a small engine boat around 4:00am following its suspicious movement and rescued the 14 victims, the commander said.

The rescued persons whose identities could not be known immediately will be handed over to local police.
