Japan has signed a deal with Bangladesh to invest Tk 2,000 crore for making a cancer hospital and research centre, a nursing college and an institute of medical technology in the country.

The tri-party agreement was signed between Japan Green Hospital Inc of Japan, Aichi Hospital Ltd and Ethics Advanced Technology Limited (EATL) of Bangladesh during the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the country, according to a press release issued in this regard.

The agreement was signed between HiroyikiKobayishiof Japan Green Hospital Inc, Dr Moazzem Hossain of Aichi Hospital Ltd and Managing Director M AMubin Khan of Ethics Advanced Technology Limited (EATL).

The State Minister of Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam and the Ambassador for Japan Rabab Fatima was present during the agreement signing ceremony.

The prime minister also expressed great satisfaction saying Bangladeshi people will receive the latest modern technology equipped cancer treatment due to this joint venture. It is a matter of great achievement and relief, she said.
