Unregistered pvt hospitals, clinics must be closed in 72 hrs

Health Directorate says

The health directorate has ordered closure of all unregistered private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres within 72 hours.

"It was decided at a meeting of the health directorate, held yesterday (May 25, 2022). However, no order has been issued yet," Md Billal Hossain, director (hospitals and clinics) of the directorate, told The Daily Star.

According to decision taken at the meeting, all private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres who have not renewed their registrations, must renew those within the specified time frame.

If the renewal application is not received within the specified time frame, operations of the private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres will be stopped.

Strict measures, including revoking license, will be taken against any organisation and individuals involved in providing anesthesia and helping OT at private hospitals and clinics with unregistered doctors.

Organisations that have applied for new registration must complete the licensing process as soon as possible. These organisations will be unable to conduct operations unless they receive a license.
