Five persons die with Covid-19 like symptoms in 3 districts

Five more persons have died with Covid-19 like symptoms in three districts since yesterday morning.

Their samples have been collected for coronavirus test. 

In Chandpur General Hospital's isolation unit, a 14-year-oldgirl and a75-year-old woman died with Covid-19 like symptoms today.

Both hailed from Faridganjupazila, a correspondent from the district reported quoting doctors at the hospital. 

The elderly woman who died around 1:00am today, was admitted at the hospital on Tuesday night with fever, cold, cough and breathing problem, Dr Suja-ud-Daula, residential medical officer (RMO) of the hospital, said.

The teenager was admitted at the hospital yesterday with the same complications and died around 11:00am today, the doctor said.

Their samples have been sent for Covid-19 test, he added.

They will be buried following the WHO guidelines, the RMO said.

We have directed the upazila administration to lock down their houses, Dr MdSakhawatUllah, civil surgeon of Chandpur, said.     

In Chuadanga'sJibannagarupazila, a44-year-old woman diedwith Covid-19 like syndromes yesterday night.

She was suffering from fever, cold, cough, breathing problem and diarrhoea, Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jibannagar Police Station said quoting family members.

Samples have been collected from the body and sent to IEDCR for test, Dr Juliet Parwin, health officer of the upazila, told our Kushtia correspondent.

The woman came back to her in laws' house fromJashore yesterday evening and died there in the night, the OC said.   

House of her in-laws and four others' were locked down after the death, he added.

In mymensingh,two persons including a youth, undergoing treatment with Covid-19symptoms died at the isolation ward of SK Hospital yesterday.

One of the deceased was a 17-year-old boy from Phulbaria upazila of Mymensingh, while another a 30-year-old man from Mawna in Gazipur, said Dr ABM Mashiul Alam, civils surgeon of Mymensingh.

Quoting family sources, the civil surgeon said the boy took poison some 10 days ago and later he recovered.

But four days ago, his condition deteriorated suddenly with severe cold and was admitted at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH), from where he was shifted to the isolaion ward on Tuesday, the civil surgeon informed.

He died yesterday morning, the CS said.

The man who had been suffering from acture respiratory problems with fever was taken to MMCH from Gazipur around 11:00am yesterday.

He was also shifted to the isolation ward immediately where he died around 2:00pm, he added.

Samples of the deceased were colelcted and sent to PCR Lab at Mymensingh Medical College for test, the doctor said.
