Dengue cases cross 58,000

No deaths, 351 hospitalised in 24hrs

At least 351 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country in 24 hours till this morning.

With the new cases, the total number of dengue patients rose to 58,209 this year.

There were no deaths in this 24-hour period and the total number of deaths owing to dengue fever this year remains at 254, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Among the deaths, 155 were in Dhaka, 25 in Cox's Bazar, 33 in Chattogram, 11 in Barishal, eight in Khulna, six in Mymensingh, five in Rajshahi, two Narail and one each in Narsingdi, Kushtia, Pabna, Bagerhat, Khagrachhari, Bogura, Madaripur and Feni.

A total of 56,245 patients have already been released, of them, 20,323 are from outside of Dhaka.

Some 1,710 dengue patients are still undergoing treatment, of which, 777 are from outside the capital.
