Dengue: 13 more die, 2,742 hospitalised in a day

At least 13 people died of dengue and 2,742 patients were hospitalised across the country in 24 hours preceding this morning.

Among the deaths, 11 were reported in the capital.

With this, the total number of dengue deaths this year rose to 340 and the total caseload went up to 72,225, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Currently, 9,463 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in medical facilities, including 4,482 in Dhaka.

A total of 62,422 dengue patients have been released from medical facilities so far, according to DGHS data.

Experts have urged the authorities concerned to conduct extensive drives against Aedes mosquitoes to curb the dengue menace.
