Death row convict dies at DMCH

A death row convict in a murder case died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early today.

The deceased Sarwar Kamal Liton (56) was a cancer patient with other health issues, jail sources said.

The man, recently brought to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj from Mymensingh Jail for treatment, fell sick early today and was rushed to DMCH where doctors declared him dead around 2:00am, said Md Faisal, a prison guard of Keraniganj Jail.

Earlier, he received treatment at different hospitals and visited DMCH yesterday morning too, he said.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police outpost said the body was kept at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.
