127 dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hours

At least 127 dengue patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Among the new cases, 32 are from outside Dhaka.

Out of total 24,645 infected this year, 990 were diagnosed with dengue during the running month, and 3,630 are from outside Dhaka.

At least 5,458 were hospitalised in October, 7,841 in September, 7,698 in August, 2,286 in July, 272 in June while 43 were infected in May and rest are from January to April, according to the DGHS.

According to the DGHS, 95 people have died of dengue infection in the country this year. Twelve people died in July while 34 have died in August, 23 in September, 22 in October and four in November so far.

Of them, 87 have died in Dhaka division, two each in Chattogram, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions and one each in Rajshahi and Barishal divisions.

Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 552 are still undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Dhaka, and 140 outside the capital, the DGHS data showed.
