BSMMU Convention Centre to be converted to 1,000-bed Covid hospital: health minister

The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Convention Centre of will be turned into a 1,000-bed field hospital for Covid-19 patients, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said today.

There will be 400 intensive care units (ICU) and 400 beds in high dependency unit (HDU), the minister told reporters at a press conference at the convention centre this noon.
