246 Covid-19 deaths recorded in 24 hours, positivity rate 29.91%

Two hundred and forty-six people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today) and the current positivity rate is 29.91 percent, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths in the country has reached 21,162 and the death rate stands at 1.65 percent.

A total of 15,989 new infections were recorded during this period, taking the total number of people infected to 1,280,317, according to the release. The total positivity rate stands at 16.32 percent.

A total of 53,462 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At total of 15,482 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,108,748 and the recovery rate at 86.6 percent.

Among 246, 137 were men and 109 women. Of the deceased, two were between 0-10, one between 11-20, four between 21-30, 13 between 31-40, 33 between 41-50, 71 between 51-60, 71 between 61-70,  32 between 71-80, 16 between 81-90 and three were between 91-100 years of age, added the release.
