Covid-19 vaccine: 3rd AstraZeneca consignment from Japan to arrive tomorrow

A total of 6,16,780 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine will reach Dhaka tomorrow -- the third consignment of the vaccine sent from Japan.

After their arrival, the total number of AstraZeneca vaccines sent from Japan will be 16.43 lakh.

A flight of All Nippon Airways (ANA) with the 6,16,780 doses departed Narita airport at 9:15pm (Japan time) today.

"This delivery is a part of Japan's commitment of supplying over 3 million doses of vaccine under the WHO-COVAX mechanism," said a Facebook post of the Bangladesh embassy in Japan. 

The embassy's Economic Minister Syed Nasir Ershad was present during the vaccine dispatch at the Narita airport.
