Bangladesh gets 3.36 lakh Johnson & Johnson Covid vaccines from US

Bangladesh today received some 3.36 lakh shots of Covid-19 vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson company from the United States government as gift.

Produced by Janssen Pharmaceuticals Companies of Johnson & Johnson, this is a single shot viral vector vaccine.

The consignment of the vaccines arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this noon.

"We have received these vaccines under the COVAX arrangement. Another consignment of the same amount (3.36 lakh) will arrive soon," Dr Shamsul Haque, member secretary of the National Covid-19 Vaccine Deployment Committee, told The Daily Star.
