Covid-19 spike: 6 new deaths, 4,378 cases recorded in 24hrs

At least 4,378 new infections were recorded and six people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 14.66 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.63 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,129 and the mortality rate stands at 1.75 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 1,609,042, added the release.

A total of 29,871 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At least 351 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,552,306 and the recovery rate at 96.47 percent.

Of the six deceased, two were male and four female and they were aged between 21-90 years old, added the release.
