Covid-19: 38 deaths reported in 24 hours, positivity rate now 8.65%

Thirty-eight people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 26,832 and the death rate stands at 1.76 percent.

At least 2,325 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,27,215, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 8.65 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 16.60 percent.

A total of 26,878 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At least 3,856 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 14,72,067 and the recovery rate at 96.39 percent.

Among the 38 deceased, 20 were men and 18 were women.

Of them, three were between 31-40, five between 41-50, six between 51-60, 10 between 61-70, eight within 71-80, six were between 81-90 years old, added the release.
