9 Covid-19 deaths recorded in 24 hours, positivity rate now 1.49%

Nine people died from Covid-19 in the 24 hours preceding 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,823 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 275 new infections were recorded during this period taking the total number of people infected to 15,67,692, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.49 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.34 percent.

A total of 18,485 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours. At least 386 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the same time.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,31,327 and the recovery rate at 97.68 percent.

Among the nine deceased, three were men and six were women. Of them, one was between 11-20, two between 41-50, two between 51-60 and four were above 60 years old, added the release.
