7 die of Covid-19 in Kushtia in 24 hours, infection rate 39.18%

Seven Covid-19 patients and two others with symptoms died in Kushtia in 24 hours (till 8am today).

During this period, 1,225 samples were tested, of which 480 tested positive for coronavirus. Current positivity rate stood at 39.18 percent.

Dr Abdul Momen, Deputy Director of Covid-dedicated Kushtia General Hospital, confirmed the development.

He said the patients breathed their last while receiving treatment under the district's health department and at hospitals.

At present, 260 patients were taking treatment at the Covid unit of Kushtia General Hospital till this morning. So far 3,063 people remain in home isolation in the district.

In total, 569 people have died due to the disease and 14,896 have tested positive for the virus so far.
