7 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, current positivity rate 9.77%

Seven people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country is currently 29,241 and the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

At least 1,072 new Covid-19 cases were recorded during this period.

The current positivity rate is 9.77 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.76 percent.

With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 19,97,412 added the release.

A total of 10,974 samples were tested across the country during this period.

At least 1,997 patients have recovered from Covid-19 within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,26,957 and the recovery rate at 96.87 percent, said the release.

Of the deceased, four were male and three were female.

Among them, one was between 11-20 years, two were within 41-50, one was between 61-70, and the rest were within 81-100 years old, added the release.
