7 Covid-19 deaths, 1,611 cases reported in 24 hours

Seven people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country is currently 29,195 and the death rate stands at 1.47 percent.

At least 1,611 new Covid-19 cases were recorded during this period.

The current positivity rate is 16.82 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.77 percent.

Meanwhile, with the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 19,88,101, added the release.

A total of 9,580 samples were tested across the country during this period.

At least 890 patients have recovered from Covid-19 within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,11,367 and the recovery rate at 96.14 percent, said the release.

Among the deceased, four were men and three were women. Of them, one was between 11-20, one was within 41-50, two were between 51-60, and the rest were within 61-90, added the release.
