51 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, positivity rate below 6%

Fifty-one people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,109 and the death rate stands at 1.76 percent.

At least 1,862 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 1,538,203, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 5.98 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 16.43 percent.

A total of 31,149 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 3,549 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,494,090 and the recovery rate at 97.13 percent.

Among the 51 deceased, 25 were men and 26 were women.

Of them, one was between 11-20, one between 21-30, four between 31-40, three between 41-50, 14 between 51-60 and 19 between 61-70, seven between 71-80 and two between 81-90 years old years old, added the release.
